About Ets AUTO-POL

An information technology firm built on patient engineering.

We are a small, senior team of engineers, architects and operators who believe that the most consequential software is the kind organizations stop noticing — the kind that simply works, year after year, while the business above it changes.

Our mission

To build systems worth keeping.

Software is easy to ship and hard to live with. The difference is rarely visible at launch; it shows up in the second year, the fifth, the tenth — in the cost of change, the on-call burden, the quiet erosion of trust between business and engineering.

Our mission is to build systems that age well. That means making careful choices early, writing code other people can read, and operating what we ship so we know first-hand what we've left behind.

Values

Four commitments that shape the work.

Restraint

We add only what earns its place. Fewer services, fewer dependencies, fewer abstractions until one is necessary.

Continuity

The engineers who design a system stay close to it. Knowledge does not evaporate at the end of a phase.

Plain language

Documents, decisions, status — written so a stakeholder outside engineering can follow them without translation.

Operational empathy

Code is shaped by the experience of running it at 3 a.m., not only by the demo at 3 p.m.

Team expertise

A bench measured in decades, not headcount.

Our practitioners hold deep, current experience across distributed systems, cloud architecture, security engineering, data platforms and modern application development. We hire for judgment and tenure: the people you meet during selection are the people who do the work.

Technology approach

We choose boring tools for important jobs.

The technology landscape rewards novelty; production environments reward maturity. Our default is the well-understood option — the database that has been operated for two decades, the language with a strong type system and a long roadmap, the cloud service whose failure modes are documented and predictable. We adopt newer technology when its benefit is real, durable, and specific.

Partnership philosophy

Engagements measured in years.

The majority of our work today is with organizations we first engaged with more than five years ago. We are not a body shop and we are not a transformation consultancy. We are a technical partner — present at the architecture review and present at the incident retrospective — and we structure our relationships to make that posture sustainable for both sides.
